This sounds like it was an amazing experience and a FUN evening. I'm as impressed with your written story as I am intrigued by the whole concept of a beer-based and beer-paired evening. Of course having it take place in a waterfront timber plank cabin from the 1900's doesn't hurt either!!

Anonymous…lovage is hard to come by unless you grow it yourself. This time of year you can probably visit your local famer’s market and ask a farmer. If they don’t have it on hand they may be able to bring it to you the following week. I substituted fennel and you could also try a combination of celery and parsley. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

My container salad "mix" lettuce is about high enough to eat now, too. Last night I picked & ate a leaf, and Duncan (the picky anti-veg head) asked if he could try it, too. !!! Then he said "YUM, I Love it!!!" and ate two more.

Anonymous...I'll admit now that I was a bit hasty with ordering 4 DOZEN! but surprisingly, between grilling them a couple nights in a row, some culinary misadventure (oyster pizza is a NO as is Oyster omelet), and a big batch of oyster stew they were gone before I knew it.
